Occasion: Dinner via Deliveroo

Initial Impressions: This place is TikTok famous. It’s so famous even my little sister (extremely USA proud American/loves California/does not want to leave the country lol) knows the “con o senza” phrase from their videos. I was interested how they would hold up against All’Antico Vinaio. LOL as you can see the three stars they sadly did not, but I’ll be breaking down exactly where they did well and where they didn’t
The Food: I was excited to add more to our panini rotation. We ordered the Carpaccio and Porchetta (with potato sauce) sandwiches. I ordered mine without (senza) mollica and Paolo ordered his with (con).

3/5 Carpaccio: So off the bat, the carpaccio here was not what I was expecting. Honestly by the first few bites I could tell I was nervous to continue eating. Look I’ve had beef tartar fine. But my intuition was telling me not to finish the last quarter. The sandwich was cold, whereas at Antico Vinaio, the beef is slightly warm from the warm bread and is flavorful with the truffle sauce and cheese. To be honest after trying this I would never order carpaccio outside of Antico Vinaio. Also the bread was more of a baguette and it was very tough to bite and chew. I also think the lack of any oil/generosity with sauce made everything taste really dry and boring.

4/5 Porchetta: So I only had one bite of this. For my one bite I think this was a better sandwich. I gave it a four because I think if you have access to an oven or air fryer you could heat this to perfection so the cheese can melt and the bread can be toasted.
Payment: the total cost was about 20 euros. Keep in mind we had delivery fees etc. While three star reviews are basically my way of leaving it up to you to try or not. Honestly, you are better off paying the same amount for Antico Vinaio down the street. I will be posting my donkey punch review soon if you don’t want to wait in the Antico Vinaio line/are big on brie/pickled red onions/caramelized onions (more creative while respecting the classic panini).
