Occasion: Quick/Casual Weekday Lunches
Initial Impressions: I came here by chance because I was in a rush for lunch and this was near my Italian lessons. There were more locals coming in here than tourists, and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll tell you how to order below after I write about the food!
The Food: The pizza and pasties here are so good hahaha. I have tried a few different things here but I always come back for the salame piccante pizza. I don’t have many photos because I keep forgetting but I finally got one and I’ll keep adding photos since I come here at least once a week. Honestly Paolo and I have agreed this is one of the best pizza places in Rome for its price point, taste, portion, service, and quality.

5/5 Salame Piccante: this is basically just pepperoni with a slight kick. It also has a slightly acidic tomato sauce to even out the spice of the salame and the pieces of mozzarella is perfect with the arugula. I always get this without fail. I actually have cravings of this often. Paolo doesn’t really like “spicy” but he admits its good and even start to get his own slices, hence why you see 3 pieces on the tray (not including the fourth piece I’m holding). Hits the spot.
3/5 Zucchini: The zucchini pictured is meh. I don’t really like zucchini though so I may be biased. If you like zucchini or are vegetarian this is perfect though. I gave it a three because there was nothing bad nor good and I wouldn’t recommend it generally unless it was a very specific situation.
4/5 Potato: Potato is one that the American in me isn’t used to, but it was surprisingly good. I just wished the potato was a bit more crispy. (I don’t have photos of this one yet)

4/5 Sausage: The sausage one (above on the left) is really good too. I usually get sausage and the salame piccante as my two pizza choices. I docked one star because I would appreciate a tiny bit more sausage on top hahahaha.
4/5 Proscuitto Cotto: This was decent. I really loved the cheese crust you see in the photo above on the top right piece. Paolo loves prosciutto cotto (cooked ham basically). I’m used to eating this type of pizza with pineapple (Hawaiian HAHAHAH).

5/5 Funghi & Formaggio: Now this (above on the right) might be my perfect pair with the salame picante!!! It’s so good. Perfectly buttery but not too heavy. The mushrooms are also a nice touch. I’ve been actually opting for the mushroom and cheese option instead of the sausage. Paolo also was very surprised. He doesn’t really like mushrooms but this one got him eating one of my slices.
3/5 Funghi & Rugula/Pomodoro: I was meh about this pizza (pictured above on the left). The same type of mushroom was used but I just think it doesn’t pair well with the red sauce or arugula. Maybe it was the extra addition of the cherry tomatoes, but I found this one a bit too acidic.
4/5 Pastries: I would recommend are the slices of the crostata, and the Bigne alla crema. I once got the Sfogliatelle but it was meh, the Bigne is really good and the crostata is always selling to locals. The cookie called “lingue di gatto” is the cookies I usually get. It means tongue of the cat, named after its shape. I would say the cookie itself is just a tad oily, but it tastes good and usually I don’t get enough for Paolo and myself. They have a really wide selection of pasties so I will keep updating as I try and hopefully remember to take photos.
Payment: The cost for me and Paolo to get six to eight pieces of pizza (you can see the size of each pictured) plus two drinks is under 15 euros or 20 at most. I don’t remember exactly, but again I will give you guys exact numbers next time we go. The payment varies because they charge by weight here. Hence I will tell you guys how to order! They accept American Express and apple pay here.
How to Order: Service is good, don’t get scared a lot of locals come and speak Italian, they speak English here. You will see the pizzas on the display. Don’t worry if they don’t look hot, these will be reheated for you in the oven and it’s very quick. You wait your turn and then choose your piece of pizza you want, they will cut you a standard serving or you can tell them more or less. Then the worker will cut the piece and put it on the scale. They will ask you if you want it hot or as is (for you to heat yourself at home etc) and then they will ask if you want a drink or not. After they will hand you the receipt and you will go to the cash register on the right and pay. Then you will take a seat and wait for your pizza. They will either take it to you or you can stand and grab it from the counter. When you are finished you can order the pastries togo or to sit down and eat. You can also order the pastries upfront and have them served with the pizza if you want.
