Occasion: Seollal New Years!!!

Initial Impressions: I’ve always wanted to go here to eat Korean food because the restaurant is on the Michelin guide, but I never found the time until today!

Once Seated: The restaurant was about empty by 2pm on a weekday afternoon. I was seated (table for one) immediately. However when I wanted to go there on a Saturday night with Paolo, they were fully booked for the rest of the night! The place is clean. Tables and cutlery are also clean. I ordered off the QR code menu. Everything is in English, Italian, and Korean! Ironically I appreciated having Korean because in California we just call everything by the Korean names. I find it funny to call mandu “ravioli” for example hahahhaa.

5/5 Food: Of course since it is the New year and I celebrated alone I had to get Tteokguk and I also ordered fried mandu just for fun. The portion was really big. They also gave me side dishes. Everything was so good! The Tteokguk tasted like the one that I would look forward to having after Church in the parish hall on new years. It was clean with some depth and not too watery. This is an informal review since I am a bit tired, but I would recommend both dishes! There were Italian people (pretty big group) there for lunch, which rarely happens, so I was glad to know that Gainn tastes good to both asian and Italian people! I would say this is a good place to go if you miss eating asian food. I am picky with side dishes so I would say the kimchi is fine 4/5 by rome standards, but if I am comparing it with like the kimchi back home for example then this would be a 3/5 kimchi. However I am a little weird because I really enjoy Baekjong kimchi and BCD side dishes. Hope this helps!

Service: Service was good! The (owner/manager) speaks English, Italian, and Korean! She gave me a cute gift for new years when I was finished and paying. They also gave me a togo box and bag for the dumplings!

Payment: I paid with my visa using Samsung pay!
