Occasion: Late Lunch that I regret on a Saturday Afternoon from Glovo
Initial Impressions: I wasted 47,40 EUROS so you don’t have to! I got an instagram ad for this place for their pastrami burger and it looked promising. I also looked over the menu and saw the truffle fries etc and thought it would be good to try even though it is on the very expensive side for Rome (and even by American standards). I thought it would be decent because they have multiple locations across Italy lol. Unfortunately I don’t have photos because we were so hungry, but I’ll have the screenshot of my order and receipt so you can see for your own eyes how expensive it was and do my review as usual!
Packaging: The packaging was good and delivery was fast. They were kind enough to put the cold drinks in a separate bag and staple it to the other bag with our warm food so things were the proper temperature. Everything was stapled nicely. Below is the receipt of my order!

Food: So as you can see, I got two combos: the pastrami burger combo and the bacon burger combo with truffle tries as an add on. We both agreed that Smash Tag (a five minute walk away) is way better.
1/5 Pastrami Burger: The pastrami was way too sweet. The chimichurri sauce also clashed with all of the flavors. The burger patty made everything extra greasy and the bun and cheese made It heavy. I felt very full and couldn’t finish the burger despite the size being relatively small. There was no fresh element to cut through. Although I didn’t get pickles on my burger, I am certain pickles would have made everything worse. I was pretty sad and disappointed. Although I am certainly thankful I had the Coke Zero, because I can’t imagine drinking room temperature water with something as heavy as that.
1/5 Bacon Burger: Paolo got the bacon burger and he also said he felt super full after.
3/5 Fries: These fries were the best thing in the bag. They were editable. However it is nothing spectacular or different from what is served at the other smash burger places.
1/5 Truffle Fries: I love truffle fries and usually will order them wherever I am in the world. So living in LA where truffle parmesan fries are pretty standard, as well as Las Vegas, NYC, and Dallas…I’ve had my fair share of fries at high end steakhouses to casual burger joints. These truffle fries were terrible lol. The truffle sauce they made was way too sweet. The mayonnaise was too thick and they topped it with parmesean (probably) which is fine, but I ended up taking the top layer of fries that were covered in the dumb sauce.
Payment: I paid with my visa through Glovo and everything went fine. I also didn’t mind paying the 1.60 fee. I also got free delivery so the total was 47.40 euros. I gave this a pretty steep one star despite the food being relatively editable because the price point was so steep. Even by American standards, I don’t even think Shake Shack costs that much. A restaurant my family loves to go to a few times a year during our vacations to Las Vegas has a full burger (not smash) and fries that is like 38 dollars, but it sits in front of the Bellaggio fountains and is a full service restaurant and also comes with a full selection of sauces made in house with my little sister’s favorite pickles on the side and is cooked to her preference. So, I don’t think in any instance that this place is worth it. You are better off buying 7 combos from Burger King for 7.50 euros a menu than to pay almost 50 euros for two terrible burgers.
Special Note: If I make a one star review of a place, it means that I will never accept the restaurant reaching out to me publicly or privately trying to “make things right” and get me to change my review. I only consider doing those types of updates for 3 or four star establishments and to date all my reviews have been on my money.
